The doctors work as a group practice.
Please feel free to attend any of the doctors but we suggest you see one doctor
for one particular problem. This will allow you to gain the most benefit from
your consultations and avoid repetition. Please note that Dr Counsell works part-time.
All our doctors are qualified medical student tutors.
THE PRACTICE TEAM
Practice Manager
Mr Neil Gregory is responsible for
the administration of the practice. He will be happy to discuss any comments or
complaints you may have.
Secretaries
We have two part-time secretaries
who help with the administration of the practice.
Receptionists
Our receptionists are here to assist
you in making appointments, requesting home visits and answering enquiries. Their
job is a difficult one. Please remember that they are only following instructions
issued by the doctors when they may appear to be asking personal questions. All
information provided is treated as confidential.
Nurse Team
We have three practice nurses, and a health care assistant.
They are:

a variety of services including health promotion, immunisations, diabetic and
asthma checks, cervical smears and taking blood.
OTHER STAFF
The following are not directly employed
by the practice but nevertheless form an important part of our team.
Health Visitor
The health visitor helps us with health promotion and providing child health surveillance to all the under five year olds registered with our practice. She can be contacted by telephoning 463700 or at our baby clinic for advice on child health care and other areas of health promotion.
District Nurse/Treatment
Room Nurse
The treatment room nurse is available
Monday to Friday 9.00 am - 12 noon. If you need to see the district nurse, this
can be done by arrangement with the doctor or via the community reception. They
can be contacted by telephone on 463700.
Midwife
There is a community midwife attached
to the practice. She is available at the surgery on Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning when the
antenatal clinic is in progress. Please make an appointment. She can be contacted
via the surgery or through the community midwife service on Bolton 390390.
Community Dietician
The dietician will help the doctors
advise appropriate patients about their dietary needs.
Counsellor
The practice offers a counselling
service. Counsellors can help patients who are experiencing difficult problems
such as bereavement, unemployment, stress, depression, anxiety, caring for relatives
and illness disability.
Please make an appointment to see
the doctor if you require this service.
Physiotherapist
The practice provides a physiotherapy
service for muscle disorders. The doctor will refer you if he/she thinks it is
appropriate. |
